Leverage Instagram by Increasing Followers

Followers play a vital role in boosting your profile on most of the social media channels including Instagram and Twitter. Even the new channels such as CoNnEcTd, and Vero are no exception, and have created their influencers with thousands of followers.

Number of Followers matter

They may not be the most important thing, but follower counts and “likes” do matter. They are a key metric, especially for those who are expanding their business. At the same time, the comments, the shares, and the number of people who save your posts are too important. With so many fake followers and inflated likes, your actual engagement rate matters so much. And if you intend people to engage more with your posts, meaningful content matters.

Build community and add value

It’s easier to say, “build community” than done. Now, what does this look like in practice? To begin with, follow relevant accounts and influencers. Just think of how they add value, and what still needs to be done within the community you want to target.  Reach out and find out if they’d like to collaborate or partner on a project. Try using the comments to figure out what your community is looking for. And when you do choose to run a contest or start a series on Instagram, ensure it’s something that provides immense value to them.

Leveraging one platform to inform the other

This is an important feature of 79/21 strategy. You may be aware of this fact that if someone follows you, on the Facebook, he will act differently from someone who follows you on the LinkedIn. But, if that person follows you on both Facebook and LinkedIn, they will behave in the following ways: Your Instagram followers who are looking for new jobs, are unlikely to ask you for resume tips–but if you know that a lot of your followers are about to enter the job market, and if most of them ask for resume tips on LinkedIn, use it to inform your Instagram content.

You can go ahead, and host a Live Q&A session, where you engage with your followers by taking questions, and also video chat with them to give important tips about resumes. Currently, this feature is not available on LinkedIn, but you can always drive some of your followers from LinkedIn to your Instagram account. What you need to do is listen to your community, irrespective of what platform they choose to speak on.

Become part of the process

There is no doubt about the most important part though, you make sure to enjoy the whole process.  Most social media in general and Instagram in particular are usually a long game, and needs lot of patience and passion from your side. Therefore, you should never forget the cardinal truth about the social media. The idea is not be discouraged when you have lesser followers than someone you know. Also, avoid comparing yourself, your growth, and your process to anyone else.

New exciting social channels such as CoNnEcTd, Periscope, Valence, and Untapped are aware of this feeling of insecurity among users, and accordingly incorporated many features that motivate users to post interesting content to increase their followers.
