Madam Curie: First Woman Researcher

I’m going to share an inspiring story of how it all started for a woman to become a successful researcher. She took this study program because she wanted to become a teacher and introduce physics to a wide range, that physics is fun.

Motivation that Trigger Mind to Work:

Another factor that motivates people to take physics majors because until now the subject of physics is a subject that is still scary for students not only at the high school level but also at the junior high school level. In physics, students are required to understand the concept by representing a phenomenon of everyday life in the form (formula). As someone who will later become an educator who will serve to educate future generations, be it at school or college, Many people have a duty to provide real solutions in physics learning. Researchers will make new innovations in physics learning media so that there is no reason a teacher does not display simulations or demonstrations about certain phenomena in the material to be taught.

Women are the pillars of the State. Imagine, if the supporting pillars of a building are fragile, then the building will certainly collapse and be leveled. The magnitude of the role of women in this era of globalization is in sync with the increasing existence of women in various fields. This is evidenced by the many professions that used to be frequently done by men, now women can also prove that they can too, even if their quality is competed.

People take Physics major by winning a fully funded scholarship or get it self financed to grab a chance to get high quality education at no cost. The education department is not as popular as the medical or engineering department, but I believe that this department is a major milestone in the birth of a superior generation who will later be proud of the Indonesian nation.

Women are Equally Eligible to work as Men are:

Gender equality proves to the world that women are not the weak. Women are people who are independent and tough. On the other hand, gender equality is considered the way women have the same rights as men in any case. Obviously this assumption is wrong. Men and women have the same rank and position in God’s eyes. Men and women have their respective duties and responsibilities in carrying out their spiritual duties. God created man and woman in a very good form and in an honorable and just position in giving their respective duties and functions.

Talking about women is not only talking about household chores. But, talking about women can be we talk about the struggles in facing the problems and obstacles that will be faced. In general, women are considered only to take care of the household, and most of the society says “For what a woman has to be highly educated in the end she will take care of the household”. Well, this kind of thinking must be changed, because an educated woman is a woman who can solve her problems well. I as a woman, of course proud of the achievements that I have achieved because I can pass in a well-known university in West Sumatra, but this achievement certainly cannot be used as a benchmark that my struggle stops here. My struggle is still long, and the obstacles I will face are still long. Therefore, women must have high intelligence. Not only in terms of academics and non-academics, but women must also have extensive knowledge in order to produce a great and strong generation. These days women only scholarships are a great way for talented women to finance their education.

How does inspiration Comes in?

The paradigm of society that tends to be conventional puts a deeply rooted thought that states that women don’t need to be smart is a wrong paradigm, because it is in women’s hands that a high civilization will be formed through education. To become a smart and successful educator, one of them is the easiest way is to gain knowledge and insight through a lot of reading. A person can change his outlook on life and mindset through reading, and of course reading positive things. It can be said that reading is the first step to success. By reading, a person can be better than before, the mind becomes bright, inspiration comes in, and in the end the process of going towards a better direction will become easier.

As a student of course I also have to be persistent in achieving my dream of boasting about the country where I stand. A woman physicist who has succeeded in cultivating my enthusiasm will love physics and study physics in depth, that is, she is a woman who is known for her intelligence and persistence. She is Marie Sklodowska. Curie. Thanks to the persistence and hard work of Marie Sklodowska Curie, she managed to break the record as the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in physics.

When was Madam Marie Cuire Born & Raised up:

Marie Curie was born Maria Sklodowska in Warsaw, Poland on November 7, 1897. As a girl, she was so hungry for knowledge that she made herself a country student who graduated with the best grades. Marie fulfilled her desire to study at the Sorbonne University, Paris.

Marie is a bright student. After graduating in mathematics, he took first place in his studies in physics. Her curiosity for science never ended, leading her to become the first woman to win a Nobel prize.

After discovering two radioactive elements, namely polonium and radium, Marie Curie shared the Nobel Prize in physics with her husband Pierre Curie and Henri Becquerel in 1903. She received her second Nobel Prize in 1911 in chemistry, thanks to her hard work to isolate radium and characterize new elements the.

Marie Curie and her husband, Pierre Curie, were both raised in a family that values education and science. Both their fathers are professors. They met in Paris and then lived together to discuss various knowledge, and contributed energy and thoughts to new knowledge of natural phenomena. One of their big dreams is to know the properties of the radioactive element.

Researches Conducted by Madam Curie

Polonium and radium are the first two radioactive elements to be discovered. Polonium is taken from the name Poland, the birthplace of Madam Curie. Meanwhile, the name Radium is taken from the color of the blue light radiation of the chloride salt they have successfully synthesized. Methods for separating radium and polonium salts from uranium rock are freely published to the world of science. They chose not to patent the method so as not to get high economic value from the invention.

The Nobel Prize for the discovery of polonium and radium did not stop the Curies from continuing their research on radioactive elements. However, due to an accident, Pierre Curie must leave Marie Curie with their children and the remaining research.

The life journey of a Marie Sklodowska Curie is never separated from science and dedication to humanity. Thanks to his sincerity and persistence, he has influenced many people to continue to develop science.

The greater the education of a woman, the more resilient the future generations she educates. My hope as a woman both for myself and for other women who can still develop knowledge for the country’s children is to be able to create intelligent and knowledgeable women, and develop talents possessed by every woman in order to create a quality country. As a physics student, of course I will develop the physics that I get with hard work and persistence which will help me in developing physics and creating something new.
