Indian wonders are so numerous and deserving of mention that I was unable to select what else to add to this list. These are only six of the many tourist destinations in India that I find worth visiting.
The legacy and history of India are among the best preserved and recorded in recorded history. These structures are examples of human emotion, creativity, aspiration, and delusion.
ULTIMATE WONDER OF INDIA: THE TAJ MAHAL
It is easy to understand why the Taj Mahal in Agra, which is regarded by many as one of the most magnificent structures in the world, is included in this list of wonders of India. The wonder and sacrifice that this building symbolizes cannot be adequately captured in a photograph; one must actually be in its presence. The monument is recognized as the greatest example of Mughal architecture ever built and was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1983. It’s also known as “The jewel of Muslim art in India” and “one of the most revered works of global heritage.”
THE GOLDEN TEMPLE: INDIA’S UNDISPUTED WONDER
The Darbar Sahib, also known as the Golden Temple, is the holiest of all Sikh temples and a representation of Sikh freedom and power all over the world. It is located in Amritsar, in the northern province of Punjab. The wonderfully carved doors lead to a bridge that links to the main building of Sri Harmandir Sahib. The structure, which is almost 200 feet long and 21 feet wide, is a superb illustration of how Hindu and Muslim architecture can coexist peacefully. The monastery, which is the Buddhist center for cultural studies, represents the Gelugpa sect of Buddhism. An 8.3-meter-tall Golden Buddha statue is located in the middle of the three-story complex, which has 70 residential buildings and a total area of about 140 square meters.
THE MAJESTIC WONDER OF INDIA: JAISELMER FORT
A sizable chunk of the Rajasthani city of Jaiselmer is housed within this extremely spectacular fort. It is located in the vast Thar desert and is also known as the Golden Fort. It has a long history of conflict.
It was constructed in 1156 AD on Trikata Hill, but sadly, the sandstone is beginning to dissolve over time, causing some of the fort to deteriorate and even begin to collapse. The Pakistan border may be seen for hundreds of kilometers in various directions from the summit. You can see how big the fort is by the fact that, at one point, the whole city’s inhabitants resided inside of it. You could spend days exploring its perimeter and still get lost!
THE IMPRESSIVE WONDER OF INDIA: THE RED FORT
The Red Fort, which is a must-see for anyone visiting Delhi, the nation’s capital, is located there. The 2.5-kilometer wall varies in height from 16 meters in some areas to nearly 33 meters in others. Shah Jahan constructed this magnificent construction in 1639 AD, and it continues to be one of India’s most impressive forts. RELIGIOUS WONDERS OF INDIA: THE SUN TEMPLE
